For Care is an NDIS-registered disability support provider, founded by Alex Shaw – a leader in the disability support field.

As a young architect, Alex was bubbling with ideas and inspiration to design a better future for others.

But she found herself back at the drawing board when a close family member needed additional support. She saw first-hand the difficulty of finding service providers who combined the level of care, expertise and respect she and her husband deserved.

Fuelled by a newfound passion to revolutionise the way disability support services were provided, Alex set to work developing solutions that would deliver the standard of care she knew her own loved one needed and deserved.

The uncompromised standard of care that anyone would want, for their own beloved family members.

With her own lived experience shaping her vision, together with an unwavering resolve, Alex sought to create a community of compassionate caregivers who would exceed expectations in nurturing the needs and goals of customers.

The demand for her unique offering was strong, and a wide and ever-growing suite of services now replace barriers with possibilities.

What is Supported Independent Living?

Supported Independent Living, or SIL, is a type of NDIS-funded disability support which involves 24/7 in-home care.

It is commonly provided in a share-house arrangement, where participants live as housemates, and they have a team of support workers who come to the home on a roster basis, to assist with daily tasks, personal care, learning new skills, taking medication, and even finding new hobbies and interests.

How can I get disability support in my home?

For Care coordinates caring, compassionate, experienced disability support workers to come to your home to help with

-daily tasks
-personal care
-learning new skills, such as meal planning and preparation
-taking your medication
-even finding new hobbies and interests.

We provide flexible, personalised care to suit your individual needs.

If you have higher care needs but still want to be independent, you may be eligible for Supported Independent Living (SIL), which involves 24/7 in-home care, commonly provided in a share-home arrangement.

What does Supported Independent Living cost?

The cost of Supported Independent Living (SIL) can vary depending on your individual needs and support requirements. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding for SIL, and the cost is determined by the support category and level of funding allocated to you.

At For Care, we are an NDIS-funded support provider, and we can help you understand your funding and how it can be used to cover the cost of your SIL. For Care can charge at the price limit in the NDIS Pricing Arrangements. Read more about the pricing guide on the NDIS website.
